Everyone belongs at the Y!

At the Kenosha YMCA, you will not be turned away for

membership or programs because of your inability to pay.

Here's how you can help...

Every kid’s a Y kid…at the YMCA, kids come in all shapes and sizes. Everyone’s a Y kid, from the active older adults in a fitness class, to the youngest member of a Parent/Child Water Orientation class.

The Kenosha YMCA is at the heart of meeting community needs…and needs come in all shapes and sizes too, including financial need.  The YMCA offers meaningful programs and services that make an impact in our members' lives and we invite everyone to belong to the YMCA.  We want all members of our community to improve their health, connect with friends, and strengthen family bonds, regardless of ability to pay.

The YMCA mission is at the core of all of our programs. But we can only live up to our mission, and truly serve all who need us, with the help of generous donors like you. Your help ensures that no one, of any age, race, gender or ability, will ever be turned away from a YMCA program because they can’t afford it. Your help ensures that every kid can be a strong kid.

How can you make a difference?

YOU can make the Y's mission come to life by contributing to the
Kenosha YMCA Strong Kids Campaign
.

Your gift to the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign goes directly towards funding the John & Judy Wavro Scholarship Program. Scholarships offer financial assistance to families and individuals who want and need YMCA programs but may not otherwise be able to afford them. The YMCA provides needed opportunity in programs such as child care, youth sports, water safety, senior fitness, before and after school care and day camp. The Y offers kids and families the chance to make positive choices - quality child care opportunities mean parents can work to better their lives; youth sports programs give kids the chance to belong to a team devoted to making a positive difference; and healthy lifestyle programs give everyone in the family the chance to lead healthier, more productive lives.

By contributing to our campaign, you are making an investment in the future. YMCA programs teach young people important values such as caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, kids also develop valuable skills, while increasing their confidence and self-esteem.

Providing assistance to low income youth and families is one way we fulfill our commitment to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Last year the Kenosha YMCA provided over $400,000 in scholarships to our community.  At the Kenosha YMCA, no one is turned away for membership or programs because of an inability to pay and your generosity makes that possible. YOU can make the Y's mission come to life by contributing to our Capital Campaign

The Kenosha YMCA continues to reach out in meaningful ways to people in the Kenosha area, contributing to the lives of thousands of individuals and families in the community. We provide places where the options to participate and grow are endless. The YMCA's focus on fostering self-esteem, self-reliance and a commitment to community service has never wavered. Now more than ever we believe those qualities to be particularly important.

A Capital Campaign is aimed at improving / expanding existing facilities or building new ones, and our campaign is an on-going effort to respond to the community's need for more mission-oriented YMCA programs and services.

Our recent Capital efforts have helped us build phase one of the Callahan Family Branch as well as the Rotary Miracle Field. Our current Capital Campaign goal is to complete the Callahan Family Branch by building the state-of-the-art Robert M. and June Kueny Aquatic Center. For a preview of the new Aquatic Center, Click Here.

Projects such as these and others require support from the community. You can help us achieve our goals by making a financial commitment to the Kenosha YMCA’s Capital Campaign.

By your contributions, you are making it possible for us to bring our core values, caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, to everyone. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to your Y today. For more information on how you can help, please contact Cindy Altergott at 262-654-9622 ext. 210.

Through Planned Giving

You can help the Kenosha YMCA build strong kids, strong families and strong communities forever, with a gift to the Y's planned giving program, Legacy Leaders. What is a planned giving program? It is a fund, made up of special contributions given by friends of the Y who want to see us continue our good work in the community far into the future. It provides a lasting source of income that enables the YMCA to offer programs and services that build character and strengthen families. Or it can provide the means for us to improve and expand our facilities to meet the future needs of our growing community.

There are many ways to make gifts to the Legacy Leaders program. These include a direct contribution of cash, appreciated securities or property or a planned gift such as a bequest, a gift of life insurance or a trust with the Y named as one of the beneficiaries.

What are the tax benefits of making a planned gift to this program? The most obvious one is an income tax deduction. Other notable benefits may be reduction of estate and probate costs and avoidance of capital gains taxes.

For further information on the Kenosha YMCA's Legacy Leaders program, please contact our President Patrick Monaco 654-9622 ext. 204.
