We build Strong Kids!

Our Commitment to Children's Safety and Protection
The YMCA was one of the first national organizations to take a stand in the critical area of child abuse prevention. When parents drop off their children at a YMCA program, they're entrusting that Y with their greatest treasures. YMCAs take that responsibility very seriously. Ys encourage parents' visits at any time and solicit their input and full involvement in ensuring the safety of all children in Y programs.

The Kenosha YMCA is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care. YMCAs are the nation's largest provider of child care programs and they provide family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children's healthy development. Well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work. No matter how many hours children spend in child care, family is the most important structure in their lives. At the YMCA, good child care is good family care. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong. This means that we incorporate our character development traits into all that we do in child care. Children in our programs learn caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in addition to receiving top-quality care from our state-licensed programs.

The Kenosha YMCA believes that children learn through the experiences they encounter. The goal of our Youth & Family programs is to provide a variety of fun experiences in a safe environment, where children are given the opportunity to acquire and develop new skills, as well as ask questions and make new friends. We offer values-based programs designed to build self-esteem, strengthen positive values and establish healthy behaviors. Cultural diversity is promoted in our programs and we encourage families to share their traditions. This foundation helps our youth grow into contributing adults. We have programs for children ages 6 weeks through 15 years.

Early Childhood Care

2-5 Years

All-day or flexible schedule care designed to give the working parent peace of mind. Our centers provide structured programming throughout the day, giving children a chance to learn and play.

YMCA toddler care - Aware of the developmental stages that go along with these early years, Y staff guide children's growth. Positive relationships with these caregivers help children learn to trust others and themselves.

Our preschool program is designed to provide academic preparation for kindergarten. YMCA preschool care builds on children's natural desire to learn new things and become more self-reliant. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are a natural part of playing games or learning a new craft. The Y is an exciting and challenging place, helping preschoolers stretch their skills in mind and body. It is also a safe, comfortable place where children build positive relationships with caring adults. Gym and swimming are offered as a part of the curriculum.

School-Age Care

5-12 years

Before and After School Program

This is a great way to make ensure your children are safe before and after school!

YMCA school-age care makes sure that the time gaps before and after school are filled creatively and constructively. Kids have the chance to express their talents in the arts, sports and other areas of interest. Time is set aside for tackling homework, with adult help available. Hours of operation vary slightly by location.

What about when it is a school holiday or day off?
