YOUTH GUIDELINES FOR FITNESS CENTER
We require children be 14 years old or older to utilize the Fitness Center. The Fitness Center includes all cardiovascular equipment, select weight equipment, free weight area and stretching. The YMCA understands the need for youth to be physically fit and active. However, safety is a #1 concern for us as well. The only exception to this rule will be youth ages of 12 and 13 who have successfully completed the YMCA Youth Strength Training Clinic. We highly recommend the clinic for 14 year olds as well.
YOUTH STRENGTH TRAINING CLINIC (12-13 yr. olds)
This 2 hour clinic will teach your child the rules and proper etiquette to follow while working out in the Fitness Center. The participant will also learn how to perform some basic exercises properly. Once the child successfully completes this clinic they will be allowed to work-out in the Fitness Center under the direct supervision of an adult.
Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:30am: March 16th, April 13th, May 11th or June 18th
